Dossche Mills is responsible for the processing of personal data and has undertaken to comply with all applicable statutes and regulations concerning data protection, such as the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 ("GDPR").

Dossche Mills wishes to be sure that you understand what personal information is collected about you while you are visiting our website, how your personal information is used, and how it is securely stored.

This notification is valid for all pages that are hosted on the website. It is not valid for the pages that are hosted by third parties to which Dossche Mills may refer and whose privacy policies may differ. What personal data do we collect?

Depending on the purpose for which we process your personal data, we need to process certain personal data, which in general, depending on the individual case, will be as follows:

How do we use your personal data?

  • Customer service: We will use your data in order to respond to questions that you as a user may submit via the contact form of this website.

  • Marketing: We process your personal data in order to manage your subscription to our newsletter, including for the purpose of sending adapted information about our services or solutions, or about our upcoming events.

  • Personal data in reports that you submit to us: We can process your personal data in order to meet legal monitoring and reporting obligations or in order to comply with the law.

  • Aggregated data: Some information relating to the visits of followers is collected in an aggregated manner. We have access to statistics that are provided by website analytics tools in order to learn about how our page is consulted.

On what basis do we use your personal data?

  • Customer service: We believe that we have a legitimate interest in responding to the requests or questions that you may submit via the various existing contact channels, including by completing a form on our website. We understand that the processing of these data is also favourable for you in so far as it enables us to adequately assist you and to answer the questions that you have asked.

  • Marketing: The legal basis for the processing and re-use of your personal data for our newsletter is your consent. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter (free of charge) at any time.

  • Personal data in reports that you submit to us: We can also process your personal data in order to meet legal monitoring and reporting obligations or in order to comply with the law, in which case the processing is necessary for us in order to fulfil our statutory obligations.

  • Aggregated data: We believe that we have a legitimate interest in understanding how our page is consulted (e.g. how often our page is consulted, from which country, etc.).

How long do we retain your personal data?

The retention period for your personal data depends on the purposes for which we process them, as explained below:

  • Customer service: We process your data during the time that is necessary in order to deal with your request or job application.

  • Marketing: We process your data until you log off or cancel your subscription to our newsletter.

  • Personal data in reports that you submit to us: We can process your personal data for the time that is necessary in order to fulfil our statutory obligations.

  • Aggregated data: Statistical information is stored by Google Analytics, and consequently is subject to their retention policy. When we export statistical reports, we guarantee that this is only done in anonymous form.

Sharing data

Personal information that is shared with Dossche Mills can be transferred to or made accessible for other companies that form part of the Dossche Group.

When disclosure must be done to an overseas entity, Dossche Mills will take reasonable steps in order to evaluate the privacy legislation of the country where information will be disclosed in order to determine whether the foreign recipient is obliged to comply with privacy laws that are at least as strict as the privacy laws applying to [WVM3] its existing activities with regard to the information.

If Dossche Mills transfers personal information coming from the European Union (EU) to countries outside the EU, it will (1) only do so in accordance with the respective legislation on data protection, i.e. no data will be transferred to a third country before it is first guaranteed that this receiving country offers an adequate level of protection for your personal data, (2) take appropriate measures in order to guarantee a suitable level of data protection, such as standard contract provisions, and (3) invoke derogations as defined in the applicable legislation.

How do we protect your information?

Dossche Mills takes all reasonable steps (physical, technical and administrative guarantees) in order to ensure the security of our systems and to protect your information against abuse, interference and loss, as well as unauthorised access, change or disclosure. We continuously update and test our security technology. Dossche Mills restricts the access to personal information by our employees and service providers, except as described in this notification. Each employee or service provider who has access to your personal information is obliged to keep such information confidential.

Your information is stored on highly secured servers. When we use a partner for data storage, we will select the latter primarily on the basis of their security level, reliability and experience in storing and handling data, including personal information.

In case of a data breach, Dossche Mills undertakes to fulfil in every respect the requirements of all relevant privacy laws.

The transfer of information via the internet is not entirely secure. Dossche Mills cannot guarantee the security of the personal information sent. Each transfer to our website is done at your own risk.

Your rights

  • Access. You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data relating to you is being processed, as well as, if that is the case, information relating to the data processing and a copy of the data that is being processed.

  • Rectification. You have the right to demand rectification of any data about you that is incorrect.

  • You also have the right to have your personal data removed in the situations that are explained by the applicable data protection legislation ("Right to be forgotten").

  • Restriction of processing. You have the right to restrict the processing of data under certain specific circumstances.

  • Objection. You have the right to object to our processing of data about you, in which case we will take your request into consideration. Please provide us with details about your reasons, so that we can assess whether there is a compelling higher interest that entitles us to continue to process such data or that we must process it in connection with legal claims.

  • Data portability. You have the right to ask to receive your personal data, or to have them transferred to a different organisation, in a machine-readable form.[WVM4]

  • Right to erasure. With this right you can request that your data be erased.

  • Right to withdraw consent. If you gave your explicit consent for the processing of your data (newsletter and new e-learning), you can withdraw this consent at any time without having to provide any justification for doing so.

  • Automated decision-making. You have the right to obtain human intervention when a decision that has significant consequences for you is based exclusively on automated processing.
