Partnership

Dossche Mills and BAT Agar have agreed to jointly reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from agricultural production and to cooperate on sustainability. The aim is to significantly improve the carbon footprint of wheat used by Dossche for flour production.
As a leading milling company in the Benelux region, Dossche Mills processes large quantities of grain every year. Sustainability is key and Dossche Mills therefore has ambitious goals for offering sustainably grown wheat. Dossche Mills will provide financial support to farmers for measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As a supplier of Dossche, BAT Agrar will provide GHG balances of the farms the wheat is sourced from. This serves as a basis for the advice to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the farms and to implement a whole package of measures to achieve carbon emission reductions. Additional measures for CO2 sequestration through soil organic carbon enrichment will be investigated meeting the requirements of additionality and permanence, among others.

In this way, both companies and the participating farmers are actively contributing to the European goals of climate neutrality by 2050. As a flour mill, Dossche Mills plays a pioneering role, working with various parties in the agribusiness chain to create a supply chain for sustainable grain products.
